Audio Sprockets ToneDexter II Effects Pedal for Stringed Instruments Now Available with TapDexter
Pro Preamp Restores the Missing Body Sound to a Piezo Pickup
Nevada City, CA July 2024 – Audio Sprockets launched the redesigned ToneDexter II in January 2024. The first two production batches sold out instantly but now ToneDexter II is available direct from Audio Sprockets and from a select group of fine instrument dealers worldwide. Audio Sprockets have also announced two major software updates for ToneDexter II and have just launched TapDexter, a dual momentary foot-switch that adds extra convenience and flexibility to ToneDexter II.
ToneDexter II now includes a new color screen, USB web browser connectivity for naming and managing WaveMaps, additional routing options, configurable FX loop, faster and more accurate training, enhanced tuner, graphical EQ, improved tone shaping with anti-feedback algorithms, and more options for external foot-pedal and MIDI control.
ToneDexter II learns the difference between how an instrument sounds through a microphone and how it sounds through its pickup. Using proprietary WaveMap® technology, it corrects the pickup so that it sounds like the mic. Store different mic positions, different mics, and different instrument WaveMap sounds for easy recall, naming and backup with the USB web browser interface, plus ToneDexter II includes features for intelligently reducing feedback in live situations.
ToneDexter II is applicable to a wide variety of stringed acoustic instruments including guitar, violin, cello, upright bass, mandolin and banjo. It can also be used with electric guitars that are fitted with a piezo pickup in addition to their magnetic coil pickups. ToneDexter II allows the performer to plug-in on stage using a pickup but at the same time retaining the unique acoustic tonality of the instrument as well as managing feedback issues.
The new TapDexter foot-switch allows artists to scroll up and down through WaveMap presets, or duplicate the Mute and Boost functions to allow ToneDexter II to be located away from the stage floor.
TapDexter is available for US$79 directly from Audio Sprockets, and from select dealers.
